Wildlife at Camp
While staying at camp through the months of September and October, I have come to realize that the grounds are much quieter than during the summer. Instead of hearing the shouts of campers playing on the fields and splashing in the lake, all that can be heard are the distance cries of the geese stopping through on their long trip down south and the falling of acorns on roofs of the cabins. Since the summer inhabitants have been gone for some time now, the year round residents come out of hiding and taken back their home. I have seen a variety of wildlife this fall including a Great Blue Heron that lives by the sail shack, three otters playing in the swamp, a plethora of chickadees, geese on the lodge lawn, and the regular assortment of squirrels and chipmunks.
