Last Swim of the Season!
The weather has been cooling off here at camp over the past few months. As you may have heard, Maine was even recently hit by a big snowstorm! It was a beautiful day and a balmy 65 degrees outside today! So we all decided it was high time to get our last swim in for the season.
Alan, Drew & Jean put on their swim attire and raced to the lake while Laura Jo and Angie offered moral support from the beach. You may recall that the lake is normally the temperature of bath water during the summer. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the water temperature in November. Alan and Drew dove in first with no inhibitions. Jean chickened-out at first, but finally gave in and dunked. And of course, once you've dunked, why not stay in a little longer? So Drew took Jean waterskiing, making sure she had her lifejacket on and buckled properly- safety first! She even did a little surfing. To her surprise, Alan and Drew thought it would be a great idea to sneak up and tip her off the surfboard. Jean was understandably not as excited about that idea.
Soon, the lake will ice over. But the first day it melts, we won't be able to hold ourselves back from enjoying yet another brisk and refreshing swim in the waters of Panther Pond. See more photos here!
