Kingsley Pines is a coed, noncompetitive, resident camp for ages 8-16 located on Panther Lake in Raymond, Maine. The camp season begins June 14, 2014. It consists of one week of staff orientation, eight weeks of children's camp, and two weeks of family camp. The employment period varies between nine and eleven weeks, ending either August 16 or August 29. Most jobs are residential and provide room and board.
We have the following openings for summer 2014:
COUNSELORS: The core of the camp staff. Candidates should be caring, enthusiastic and have a genuine concern for children. Counselors supervise, lead, guide, and live with 3-10 children. They also teach activities (see list below). These positions require maturity, creativity, and strong commitment to children. Click here to learn more about being a counselor. Candidates must be at least age 18 and have graduated from high school before January 1, 2014.
We need counselors who can instruct one or more of the following activities: Archery, Basketball, Ceramics & Pottery, Jewelry, Lacrosse, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Ropes Course (High), Ropes Course (Low), Sailing, Stained Glass, Tennis, Visual Art (3-D), Wakeboarding, Waterskiing, Windsurfing, and Woodworking.
ASSISTANT WATERFRONT DIRECTOR: Responsible for leading and organizing the Red Cross instructional swimming program. Duties include supervising and training instructors and monitoring the quality of instruction. Watch this video to see our awesome waterfront in action. Candidates must be age 21 or older and have current Lifeguarding, WSI, first aid, and CPR. We can assist in acquiring the necessary certifications.
MULTIMEDIA DIRECTOR: Responsible for creating three multimedia shows that combine photos, video, and music. These shows are presented at the end of each camp session. He /She will also shoot a variety of video to be used for the web and the multimedia shows.Video experience, computer experience and creativity required.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Responsible for taking a variety of photographs throughout the camp season to be used for the web and three multimedia shows. These shows are presented at the end of each camp session. Seeking a person with photography experience, especially with fast action (like sports).
TEEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM DIRECTOR: Responsible for planning and implementing the Teen Leadership Program composed of 16 participants and three staff members. This program focuses on leadership development, teamwork, independence, and self-confidence in a small group setting. Also responsible for supervising two Teen Leadership Program staff members. Click here to learn more. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, creativity and organizational skills. You must have experience working with teens, resident camp experience, be age 21+, and have a clean driving record. Lifeguard, first aid and CPR certification is a plus. We can assist in acquiring the necessary certifications.
NURSE ASSISTANT: Responsible for assisting the nurses with managing the daily healthcare needs of campers and staff, including first aid and record keeping. Great learning opportunity for student in nursing or other medical field.
COOK: Part of a ten person staff consisting of a food service director, three cooks and six prep assistants. He/She is responsible for helping to prepare, cook and serve 3 daily meals, supervising prep cooks, and monitoring safety and cleanliness. Previous cooking and supervisory experience required.
